Image Processing
Image Processing is a concept that has entered our lives seriously in recent years, and continues to enter even more rapidly. In fact, it has been in the world of computer science for many years, but as technologies have become widespread and accessible, their uses have increased and become more popular.
Image Processing is called defining content properties by evaluating an image or video. The element of defining the content feature is mainly based on giving distinctiveness. For example; The face recognition systems used today are realized with image processing techniques.
In the coming years, we will encounter image processing technology in many different areas of our business and private lives. We can technically exemplify image processing as follows: License plate recognition systems basically try to detect the license plate of the vehicle in the picture. After detecting the location of the plate, it tries to detect the number and digits on the plate. Here, even if there is mud, dust or paint on one side of any letter or number, it overlaps the entire letter/number with the pictures and information in the library and actually corrects the error with image processing.
Some of the usage areas;
Facial recognition and security systems
Demographic considerations
Traffic, astronomy, radar and photography industry applications
Determination of population density by using satellite images
Radiology field (tomography, ultrasound, etc.)
Making sense of underwater and satellite images in the field of Military Industry
The field of medicine, the differentiation of various organ structures, etc.
